In the twilight’s shroud, where shadows creep, In whispers deep, where memories sleep, A grim relentless thief doth sweep, Seizing all in his ceaseless keep.
How he ravages, with silent might, Each fleeting moment, each fading light, From the cradle to the tomb’s bleak sight, This spectral beast inspires fright.
No castle strong, no love so pure, Escapes his grasp, so firm and sure, For every joy, there comes its cure, None, to he, shall endure.
Like autumn leaves, we drift and fall, Heedless of our wistful call, As the chronic king, still stands tall, To claim his prize, from one and all.
In bouts of laughter and tears that flow, In songs of triumph and tales of woe, Thy eternal foe doth sow, Seeds of oblivion, where all must go.
So steal more breath tis were a crime, Seek and revel the sublime, Dare defy this fiend so prime, The forever undefeated Time.
